Adam Goldberg and Dan Marks started South District Films after years freelance producing, directing, and editing some of the most renowned sports documentary series and films. Between the two of them, they have amassed 9 Emmy Awards and a prestigious Peabody Award for their work on ESPN’s 30 for 30 (Sole Man, Pony Excess, Straight Outta LA, The Day the Series Stopped) as well as HBO’s 24/7 and State of Play series. Most recently, Dan has directed and edited an animated short for the UFC’s 25th anniversary, while Adam is the showrunner of an upcoming Netflix sports documentary series.

SDF has applied the same documentary aesthetic and approach to its commercial work, which has gained them not only client retention, but also the ability to push the limits of creativity with an advertising partner. Thus separating them as two of the more exciting storytellers in the documentary and ad world today.

Adam and Dan have shot with the worlds best athletes including Tiger Woods (TaylorMade), Manny Pacquiao (HBO 24/7), Serena Williams (Gatorade), and Kyrie Irving (Nike). But SDF displays the same level of detail, heart, and personal attention to all of our subjects. Whether 30 seconds or two hours, everyone has a story, and SDF lives to tell them.
